The church council meeting and the weekend at Elcho Island have finished and today the people are returning to their homes. I am flying Marratja, an Aboriginal woman, back to Ramingining.

The flight this morning is serving the church. At Elcho Island, a small community at about 20 minutes flying distance, a church council meeting will be held. Helen and Ruth are two elders of the church in Milingimbi and they have to attend this meeting.

This morning I flew Tom, a primary school teacher, to the bush village Moorroongga Island. Tom ran the primary school there today, which consists of one class for all children of primary school age. George and Billy (Aboriginal Ranger) came along to do some maintenance in the village.

“René and Janneke Don have been living on the remote and isolated Island of Milingimbi for three years, serving the community and René acting as Base Manager and Pilot. As well as the full-on aviation responsibilities the family has been actively involved in selling Christian resources and helping the local Aboriginal people study the Bible and grow as Christians.“
