At MAF we believe that Gods ways are higher than our ways and we asked a group of business men to help us save a million dollars. When they offered to pay for two aircraft, this was the confirmation to make a bid for five aircraft out of a bankruptcy. (MAF NL website)

Just a short note that we will be in Cairns and in Gove for the next two weeks. René has been asked to take on a role as Supervisory Pilot. This entails that he will be involved in training new pilots into the programme. For this he needs to go to Cairns for two weeks to undertake an internal course (which some pilot's from Africa will attend as well). Janneke doesn't travel to Cairns, but instead will stay at the mainbase (Gove), which means she can catch up with other MAF families and go to the pool.

Here are some photo's from a time with our Yolŋu family, when Janneke handed them the Zeeuwse baking tray. (baking tray in a reinvented traditional design from our home province Zeeland in The Netherlands)

At the moment we are the only MAF family here, fortunately not the only white people.

Last Wednesday morning we visited another base as a family, because a team from MAF US came and organized a workshop in 'Oral Strategies' (how do you tell a story in an oral culture, such as Aboriginal culture). René
had arranged that we could accompany him on a chartered flight. And so we flew with an aeroplane full of Aboriginals and Janneke, Noah & Judah.
